How Many Sleeps Until Christmas?
The kid-friendly way to count down: how many sleeps — nights — until Santa comes. The big number updates by itself, and it’s easy enough for a five-year-old to read.

A bedtime-friendly countdown
“How many sleeps?” is the question kids ask from November onward. Press Fullscreen, put the number on the whiteboard for morning meeting or on the family tablet at bedtime, and let the page do the counting. It pairs naturally with an advent calendar: one door, one fewer sleep.
Other ways to count down
Grown-ups and planners can switch to days or weeks, families that celebrate on the 24th can use the Christmas Eve countdown, and everything is collected on the main Christmas countdown page.
FAQ
What does “sleeps” mean?
One sleep is one night. If the big number says 7, there are 7 nights of sleep left before Christmas morning — on Christmas Eve there’s just 1 sleep to go.
Why count sleeps instead of days?
Young children can’t yet feel the difference between 23 days and 23 hours — but they understand bedtime. “Seven sleeps” tells them exactly how many bedtimes are left, which is why early-years teachers love this version.
When does it reach zero?
The count reaches 1 sleep on the evening of December 24; on Christmas Day the page switches to a Christmas greeting and starts counting to next year.
Does it update by itself?
Yes — the number rolls over at midnight, your local time, every night. Leave it on the whiteboard or the family tablet and it’s always right.
Can we use it with an advent calendar?
Absolutely — many families open the advent calendar and then check the sleeps countdown as part of the bedtime routine.
