Privacy Policy

The short version

ClassCaddy is designed for classrooms, so it collects nothing. There is no account system. The names you type — students, prizes, anything — are saved only in your own browser's local storage and are never transmitted to us or any third party.

What stays on your device

• Class rosters saved in the roster center
• Saved wheels and tool settings (the scoreboard itself resets when you close the page — by design)
• Anything you paste into a wheel or generator

These are stored in your browser's local database (IndexedDB, with a localStorage fallback) — a much more durable home that ordinary cache clears won't touch. Wiping all site data in your browser settings deletes them; they exist nowhere else. Share links encode your wheel in the URL itself — so even a shared wheel never touches a server; anyone with the link can read the entries it contains, so don't share wheels with sensitive names publicly.

COPPA

The Children's Online Privacy Protection Act restricts collecting personal information from children under 13. Because ClassCaddy operates entirely in the browser and transmits no user-entered data to any server, we do not collect personal information from anyone — students included. If we add anonymous analytics in the future, they will contain no identifiers, and this policy will be updated first. Advertising, if introduced, will be labeled child-directed in accordance with COPPA and Google's child-directed treatment requirements.

FERPA

The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act protects student education records. ClassCaddy never receives student records: teachers enter first names into a local-only tool, and no education records are created, transmitted, stored or accessible by us.

What this site technically requests

• Static files — the site is static HTML/JS/CSS served from a CDN; serving it logs standard anonymous request data (URL, timestamp) in infrastructure logs that are not used to profile users.
• Audio playback — spin ticks and timer chimes are generated locally with WebAudio; no audio files are downloaded.
• Clipboard — only when you press a Copy button.
• Fullscreen — only when you press Fullscreen.

Your control

Everything we store is visible and deletable from your browser: clear site data for this site to erase all rosters and saved wheels instantly. No export request needed because we never had the data.
